I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in private practice in Las Vegas for nearly two decades. In this time and prior, I have dedicated years of rigorous education and training to provide comprehensive and effective counseling, therapy, and sex therapy services to couples, families and individuals.
My formal education includes: a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Master of Education, and a Bachelor in Psychology.
In addition to extensive and on-going training for Marriage and Family Therapy, I worked previously in other human service sectors for over a decade. I was employed with the state of Nevada department of Child and Family Services working with families that have children with special needs, and the Clark County School District as a substitute teacher, elementary teacher, and middle school teacher.
I began my private practice in 2006 as a Licensed Intern and have continued my practice to this date.
I pursued additional education and training to become an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist as well as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. In my required continuing education, I seek to sharpen established skills as well as learn new and innovative skills relative to the areas I treat.
Spiritually, I have a Christian background. However, I maintain spiritual and religious neutrality in therapy and certainly respect clients of all spiritual and religious backgrounds.
As an active member of AAMFT and AASECT, Jerri upholds the ethical standards of her profession at all times. Client’s confidentiality is strictly maintained.
As a therapist, my interest in sexuality and intimacy and the influence they have on relationships has become an emphasis in my practice. I use this expertise within couples therapy or individual therapy to treat many of the challenges that come with a romantic relationship.
As a sex therapist, I focus on all intimacy. This includes emotional, intellectual, affectionate, non-sexual touch, and sensual, sexual touch intimacies. I help couples and individuals understand the deeper complexities of their sexuality and sexual relationships.
I enjoy helping couples, families and individuals identify, recognize and understand their patterns (both good and bad), and how these patterns set them up for successes and positive connections as well as conflict and undesirable challenges.
Therapists often have the ability to ask the kind of questions that produce new thoughts, and new understanding within self and relationships. Asking the questions you've never been asked or never thought of is one of my favorite parts of therapy.
